  • I have always believed that passion and perseverance are the cornerstones of success, and my journey as a chess player and a college student reflects this philosophy. I began playing chess at age five, drawn to the intricate balance of strategy and creativity the game demands. Over the years, my dedication has led me to achieve remarkable milestones: reaching the #1 ranking in the United States and 13th globally at my peak. At just 11 years old, I was honored to join the US Chess Team, representing my country in international competitions. Currently, I have a peak rating of 2205 internationally, and I am a Candidate Master (CM)

  • Chess has taught me invaluable lessons in critical thinking, discipline, and resilience—skills that extend far beyond the chessboard. It has proven my self-discipline. These qualities have also been instrumental in my academic journey. At just 13 years old, I am proud to be an Irvine Valley College (IVC) student, embarking on a path shaped by an accelerated educational trajectory. Completing my middle and high school curriculum in just two years of online school required focus, determination, self-discipline, and a passion for learning.

I am a Level 8 pianist and have received state honors for my performances, showcasing my dedication to mastering disciplines. Additionally, I am passionate about sports, including tennis, golf, basketball, and swimming, which keep me active and introduce me to new perspectives and connections. Through these activities, I've discovered the joy of building relationships and immersing myself in different communities.
Traveling has also been a cornerstone of my personal growth. Representing the US in chess has allowed me to visit over 20 countries, competing internationally while exploring new cultures, languages, and ways of life. These experiences have shaped my worldview, fostering adaptability, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for diversity. Whether solving a Rubik's cube, playing pool with friends, or exploring a bustling city abroad, I thrive on engaging with others and expanding my horizons.

US Chess team

After years of dedication to competitive chess, I was selected to join the U.S. Chess Team at age 11. I reached my age group's #1 national ranking that same year. Being part of the national team has allowed me to represent the United States on an international stage and compete alongside some of the most talented young players in the world.

Team USA

Over the past three years, I’ve traveled for tournaments and proudly worn the official U.S. Chess Team jacket, which was sent to me by the U.S. Chess Federation. It’s more than just a uniform — it symbolizes the honor and responsibility of representing my country through a game I love.
